Construction disputes
Projects run late and over budget, and the money stops moving. We sort out who owes what from the contract, the change orders and the schedule.
We act for owners, general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers. Many cases start with a mechanic's lien or a payment bond claim, and the deadlines to file them are short, so the first thing we do is check the dates. After that comes the paper: change orders, daily logs, pay applications and emails, which usually decide these cases.

Questions on a stalled job
I haven't been paid. Should I stop work?
Not before you talk to us. Stopping without the right notice can put you in breach. We check what the contract and the law let you do first.
How fast do I have to file a lien?
Fast, and the deadline runs from dates on the project, not from when you found out you won't be paid. Call us with the date you last worked on the job.
Can you help if I'm the owner?
Yes. We defend owners against liens and claims, and bring claims against contractors for defects and delay.
Money stuck on a project?
Send the contract, the last pay application and the date you last worked on site. Marit or Idris will call you back.
The first call is free and doesn't make us your lawyers; a signed engagement letter does.
